Who we are
Learning & Skills, Events, Consultancy and Training (LSECT) Limited was established in 2010 to deliver workshops and conferences in the further education sector. We also publish two weekly newspapers: FE Week and Schools Week, and run wider education sector events.
We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website (schoolsweek.co.uk, feweek.co.uk, lsect.com, feweekaac.co.uk, educationfest.co.uk and educationweekjobs.co.uk) customers of our services and general contacts of the organisation. LSECT is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. Please read further for more detailed information on when and why we collect personal information, how it is used and kept.
Types of data we collect
When someone visits either of our newspaper websites including www.feweek.co.uk and www.schoolsweek.co.uk, we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
As part of the registration process for any of our email newsletters, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to deliver our newsletters; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are correct. We do not sell, rent or trade email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletters. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to newsletters at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at email@example.com.
Ticketing and Subscriber Data
When you purchase a ticket for one of our events or subscribe to either of our newspapers through our website, your name, address data, email and contact details will be stored in our ticket systems, Eventbrite and Cvent, and our subscription system, Subscription Genius. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent and will only make contact to tell you about your booking or related business.
